Subject: The die is cast...


My letter of acceptance is signed and in the mail and I've handed my
resignation letter to my boss. I'll be taking a development position at
Viant, a recently public Web consulting firm with an office in San
Francisco. (First question, are you moving to the city? In the short term,
no. I'll be taking Caltrain the vast majority of the time. Viant is four
blocks away. It will be a long commute, but I'll be able to do whatever I
want during it.)

I'll be at Compaq through the 29th of this month and I'll start at Viant
with three weeks in Boston starting October 4th. I would have liked to have
a full week, but I wasn't quite quick enough and there's a lot I need to
get done before I leave. 

I'd like to thank all of you for either helping me out with suggestions
and leads or pestering me to get off my butt and move on. 

Well, there's no going back now... 8-)
